He has burst onto the scene in 2022 as a winger that knows how to score a try and Taylan May will be doing that in Penrith Panthers colours for several more years.

The young winger has signed a new deal with the Panthers until the end of the 2024 season.

May, a local Mt Druitt junior, said it has always been his dream to play for the Panthers since his rugby league journey began.

“It’s an honour to re-sign at the club,” May said.

It’s always been a dream of mine to play for the Panthers and I’m making it a reality now.

“Having grown up in Mt Druitt, I’m not just playing for myself, but I’m playing for my family and the whole community.

“The Panthers jersey means a lot to me – I’m humbled and grateful for this opportunity that has been given to me.”

With 11 NRL games to his name so far and 10 tries, his prowess is on show, and the club expect that to continue over the next few seasons.

“We’re delighted to have Taylan commit to Panthers for the next two seasons,” Panthers Rugby League CEO Matt Cameron said.

“He was given an opportunity in the starting side earlier this season and there is no question he has taken his opportunity with both hands.

“We’re thrilled to see another local junior progress his rugby league career at the club, and we’re excited to see May remain in Panthers colours until at least the end of 2024.”
