After being granted an early release by the Canterbury Bulldogs, fullback Matt Dufty has penned a two and a half year deal with Super League side, the Warrington Wolves.

The deal, which is effective immediately, is one that Dufty is excited about.

“The opportunity to come over to Warrington and test myself in Super League is an exciting one,” Dufty said.

“From my conversations with Daryl [Powell] the way he wants the game to be played is something that I feel can really suit my game.”

Still only 26, Dufty believes his best footy is in front of him and he wants to show Wolves fans just how good he can be.

“My best footy is still in front of me and I’m excited to showcase what I can do in England in front of the Warrington fans,” Dufty continued.

“It’s a challenge I’m looking forward to and I can’t wait to rip in now for the Wolves.”

Wolves coach Daryl Powell praised Dufty’s ability and says he’s a player he has been trying to sign for a while.

“Matt’s a player who I’ve been trying to sign for a few years,” Powell said.

“He’s a player who I feel will benefit massively from coming over to the UK. He’s a perfect fit for Super League and the way the game is played over here.

“He’s fast, strong, aggressive and competitive.

”He’s an all-round great signing for us and I’m excited for him to come over and to have an important impact for the remainder of this season and beyond.”
