With the NRL transfer deadline nearing an end, the Sydney Roosters have journeyed into it with the signing of English centre Oliver Gildart from the Wests Tigers.

Gildart, who joined the Tigers with much fanfare, had shades of good times but after injuring his calf in May, has been playing for the Tigers NSW Cup side.

The Wests Tigers believe it is a good move for Gildart and they will welcome him back for pre-season training.

“This works for Oliver, and it works for us as well.  So strategically, it makes sense,” said Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe.

Oliver will return to us after this short loan and begin preparing for 2023.”

Gildart will join the Roosters having played eight games for the Tigers and a single try.
