The Parramatta Eels have today confirmed three re-signings, those players being Shaun Lane, Jake Arthur and Sean Russell as well as adding Jack Murchie.

Lane, who was viewed by many fans as one of the best back rowers in 2022 has signed a long term extension until the end of 2026.

Lane, the Eels 2022 Ken Thornett Medallist has played in 99 NRL games for the club over four seasons.

Having previously bounced around several clubs including the Canterbury Bulldogs, the New Zealand Warriors and the Manly Sea Eagles, Lane has found a home in Parramatta.

Also re-signing are two Eels juniors in Jake Arthur and Sean Russell, both until the end of 2024.

Arthur, the son of head coach Brad Arthur, is seen as the first choice should either Dylan Brown or Mitch Moses miss games.

For Russell, who excelled in his debut game only to then suffer a rib injury and internal injuries, he has a chance to bounce back with a potential backline spot open.

The Eels new signing in Murchie will stay on for two seasons and so far has 40 NRL games to his name across two clubs, the Canberra Raiders and the Warriors.

Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill backs all the players to perform and knows they believe in coach Arthur’s system.

“These players believe in the direction the club is heading under the leadership of Brad Arthur and they epitomise everything our Club aspires to be; connected and respected,” O’Neill said.

“We look forward to the contribution these players will make in our premiership campaigns going forward.”
