After what was perhaps one of his best seasons in a few years, the North Queensland Cowboys have re-signed Jordan McLean for the 2023 season.

Now 31, McLean was a big part behind the Cowboys surprise push into the NRL finals earlier this season.

It was almost like a fresh start for McLean in 2022, after he had two injury-riddled seasons prior to that.

McLean is also a part of the club’s leadership group and had it not been for a late injury, he could have made his Origin debut for NSW.

The Cowboys are pleased to retain McLean for a further season.

“Securing Jordan for another season is exciting news for our club,” Cowboys General Manager of Football Micheal Luck said.

“It’s no coincidence our improved performances last season coincided with Jordan’s most consistent period on and off the field.

“His experience and leadership has been invaluable in the development of our talented young playing group and we look forward to his continued influence helping lead our squad to another level of performance in 2023.”
