Eco-Power Stadium played host to France and Greece with the French outfit taking the game out 34-12.

Although the Greek side was valiant in defeat, they were unable to match the consistency of the French side.

The French were the first to score as Jordan Dezaria strolled over with a powerful run.

A high tackle then saw Arthur Mourgue slot a penalty goal to put France up 8-0.

Mourgue was then involved in the next France try as a deft grubber behind the line was pounced on by Tony Gigot.

Benjamin Jullien was the next to score as he ran a hard and fast line to power onto a pass from Alrix da Costa at dummy half.

France went further ahead when Mourgue was on the receiving end of a break to score under the posts.

Greece would then score their first World Cup points on the back of veteran Jordan Meads.

His grubber was perfectly weighted and Siteni Taukamo won the race to the ball.

A second penalty goal for Mourgue and a second try for Jullien after a right side shift saw France go up 34-6.

The Greece side would score their second and final try of the game.

Billy Magoulias chipped cross field – reminiscent of his play for Newtown when they won the NSW Cup grand final – and Nick Mougios was quickest to pounce, running away with ease to score.

France’s campaign puts them in a good position for a finals berth.
