He was linked with a move to the Newcastle Knights but Manly Sea Eagles fans can rest easy with utility back Reuben Garrick signing a new four-year deal.

Off-contract at the end of 2023, clubs were able to talk to Garrick about a move but instead, he opted to stay with the Manly club despite what has been a tough season for them.

Since making his debut and breaking some records in the process, Garrick has scored 55 tries and kicked 288 goals, and the club believe he will add many more to that tally.

“Reuben is a very important player at Manly and we are thrilled to have secured his services for a further four years,’’ said Sea Eagles CEO, Tony Mestrov.

“He is well respected by his team-mates. Reuben is a very professional and dedicated athlete who we see as a natural leader amongst our playing squad.”

With 91 NRL games to his name so far, Garrick was the first player to score 20 tries and kick 100 goals in a season in 2021.

He also broke the record previously held by Hazem El Masri for the most points in a regular season.
