When the move was first reported, it surprised many but it has now been made official with Anthony Seibold to coach the Manly Sea Eagles.
Seibold will take the reigns from the departed Des Hasler on a three-year contract and it is safe to say that the pressure is on.
Previously, Seibold has held head coaching gigs at both the Brisbane Broncos and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Seibold has also held numerous assistant roles across the NRL and the club value his experience as a key factor.
“Anthony has an incredible knowledge of the game and what is required at the highest level,’’ Manly CEO Tony Mestrov said.
“We believe Anthony is the ideal person to lead this very talented and strong playing group to achieve success in the years ahead.”
There is no denying that the move was a shock one but Seibold is proud to have the chance to coach the club.
“I’m very proud to be the head coach of the Manly Sea Eagles,” Seibold said.
“Manly have a proud history and the opportunity to coach Manly from 2023 and beyond is tremendous for myself and I’m really humbled.”
