Slowly making a name for himself in first-grade is Fonua Pole and the Wests Tigers can see the glowing stars, re-signing the talented forward until the end of 2025.
Already signed on for 2023 and 2024, Pole will stay on with the Tigers for the 2025 season as well.
Since making his debut late in the season, Pole played the final twelve games of 2022 and was subsequently named as the Tigers’ rookie of the year.
Progressing through the Tigers junior system, Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe is pleased to retain the local talent.
“Fonua has worked hard to get to where he is, and I’m delighted for him,” said Pascoe.
“He has progressed from our Balmain SG Ball team to Jersey Flegg, then NSW Cup and on to the NRL, so it’s a credit to Fonua and also shows that our pathways programs are working.”
Pole admits that playing first-grade was a dream of his and he hopes to build on debut season with a club he believes is going places.
“I was stoked to play first grade last season, it was like a dream come true,” said Pole.
“I learned so much in a short time last season and I just want to focus on getting better and better over the next few years.
“It’s a really young squad and I think we’ve got some exciting times ahead of us, starting now.”
