The Sydney Roosters halves pairing will remain as it is for at least a couple more seasons with Sam Walker signing a new 2-year deal.

Already contracted for 2023, Walker’s new deal takes him through to the end of 2025 and as each season goes by, Walker goes from strength to strength.

Walker was grateful to the Roosters and everything they had done for his career so far and that influenced his decision to stay.

“The Roosters have been awesome for me and I’m grateful every day to be part of this great Club,” said Walker.

“I love the Roosters Club and the people in it so I’m stoked to extend my time here.

“From ‘Robbo’ and the coaches to the squad around me, I’m learning so much and I know this is where I’ll play my best footy.”

Still only 20, Walker’s debut came at 18 and he has since played in 46 NRL games, all for the Tricolours.

The club know that he will continue to an important piece for them as they look to recapture the premiership.

“Sam is an impressive young man and a keen student of the game who brings energy to everything he does,” said Roosters Head of Recruitment Daniel Anderson.

“There’s a terrific connection between him and the players around him and it’s great news that he will continue to play his important role here at the Roosters in the coming years,” he added.
