Already contracted for season 2023, the Cronulla Sharks have moved quickly to retain Siosifa Talakai by signing adding a three-year extension until the end of 2026.
After a breakthrough season in 2022 that saw him earn an Origin berth, the world is Talakai’s oyster, as he looks to continue going from strength-to-strength.
Still on break from his time at the Rugby League World Cup with Tonga, Talakai admits he is excited and pleased to have his future sorted.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunities the Sharks have provided me to this point and really excited to be extending my contact and remaining at the club for the next four years,” Talakai said.
“I enjoy a close bond and have great friendships with my teammates and coaching staff which played a part in my decision to re-sign and with the quality of the players we have I believe we can do something special here at the Sharks next year and in the years ahead.”
Talakai will rejoin his teammates after the Christmas-New Year break as he looks to make an even bigger impression than he has in his 63 NRL games to date.
