Both forwards have done their part for the New Zealand Warriors and now Bunty Afoa and Tom Ale have been rewarded with new deals.

Afoa and Ale, both local juniors, have both signed on until the end of the 2025 season and both are players held in high regard by new coach Andrew Webster.

“Bunty and Tom are outstanding examples of players who have come through our system and taken their opportunities,” said Webster.

“They demonstrate real pride in the club and all they do.”

Webster is no stranger to Afoa, with the forward playing for the juniors the last time the now head coach was at the club.

“Bunty was a junior when I was first here and it has been a thrill to watch him develop into a seasoned and consistent first grader while Tom has been hampered by injury but has done everything in the preseason to indicate he’ll be an asset,” Webster continued.

Andrew McFadden also knows Afoa well, having given him his debut back in 2016 when he was head coach.

“Bunty was a fantastic player for us in the NYC and it was an honour to be able to give him his NRL debut in 2016,” McFadden said.
