In a move that perhaps many did not see coming, Ken Maumalo will join the Gold Coast Titans after being granted a release by the Wests Tigers.

At the very least, Maumalo will join the Titans for the remainder of the 2023 season and through to the 2025 season.

Maumalo, who is a former New Zealand international and Dally M Winger of the Year, is a signing that Titans coach Justin Holbrook is pleased with.

“We’ve had a couple of roster spots left and we identified that we wanted to fill one of those with an experienced outside back who can add real value to our team,” Holbrook said.

“Ken knows what it takes to perform at NRL level and we think he will be a great addition to our roster.

“We’ve got some wonderful young local players like Jojo Fifita and Alofiana Khan-Pereira who have already shown their potential, but having someone of Ken’s experience will no doubt help with their development as well.”

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe thanked Maumalo for his contributions to the club.

“All of us at Wests Tigers wish Ken and his family the best with the next chapter in his career,” Pascoe said.

“This move is an opportunity that works for us as a club and for Ken and his family.

“We wish Ken all the best with his future and thank him for giving his best effort over the past two seasons.”
