Some unfortunate injuries in recent times may have held him back slightly from what he wants to achieve but the South Sydney Rabbitohs have shown great faith in Jacob Host.

Host is grateful for the faith that the club has shown in him and he wants to have the chance to repay the club back for it.

30 of Host’s 81 NRL games have come for the Rabbitohs and the forward is pleased about extending his stay with the club.

“I’m really excited about re-signing here at Souths. They have shown great faith in me and I want to repay that with strong performances,” Host said.

“Everyone at the club is like family and getting to play with my mates every week, all of us with a common goal of winning the premiership, is a special feeling.

With Host’s debut coming with the St George Illawarra Dragons, his time at the Rabbitohs has been rocky but Rabbitohs Head of Football says the club look forward to watching Host perform over the next few years.

“‘Hosty’ has faced some adversity since joining us in 2021 but he is a fantastic footballer and a better man,” Mr Ellison said.

“He was in our top 17 for the 2021 NRL Grand Final and he would have been right in the mix for our Finals charge last season as well if not for his injury.

“We’re all looking forward to helping Jacob take the next steps forward in his game over the next three seasons in the red and green.”
