In perhaps somewhat of a shock to the system, the Gold Coast Titans and Justin Holbrook have decided to part ways effective immediately.
The Titans believe now is the time to move in a new direction as they aim for a new strategy that can bring about success by 2030.
Holbrook joined the Titans in 2020 and has had an up-and-down tenure during his time at the club but he has overseen the biggest overhaul in the club’s history.
The club feel that moving on is the right decision but were quick to thank Holbrook for the work he has done with the club.
“We are grateful to Justin for his contribution to the club over the past four seasons,” said Titans CEO Steve Mitchell.
“We are here to bring success to the Gold Coast and in order to do so we feel that this is the change necessary to deliver on our promise which is to win premierships.”
As for the incoming coach, it is none other than the experienced premiership-winning coach in Des Hasler, who has previously coached both the Manly Sea Eagles and the Canterbury Bulldogs.
Hasler will sign on for from 2024 and looks forward to what lies ahead at the club.
“I’m looking forward to joining the Titans and to the 2024 season,” Hasler said.
“The club has a strong playing roster, the region is blessed with emerging talent and the organisation is firmly embedded in the community.
“I’m confident we can deliver success to the region in the coming seasons.”
