Opportunity is everything and with uncertainty at the Canterbury Bulldogs surrounding their halves, it is a chance for Toby Sexton to make a name for himself.

Sexton, who was granted an early release by the Gold Coast Titans to take up the deal, joins the Bulldogs effective immediately and until the end of 2024.

With a total of 24 NRL games to his name to date, Titans interim coach Jim Lenihan wished Sexton all the best on his new endeavours in Sydney.

“Toby has been a wonderful clubman and is a great young man who has been given a chance to play more first grade football,” Lenihan said.

“He’s decided to take up an opportunity at the Bulldogs and we didn’t want to stand in his way.

“I hope he grabs the opportunity in front of him and finishes the year off strongly and we thank him for all of his efforts while at the Titans.”

As Sexton begins his transition both professionally and personally from the Gold Coast to Canterbury, his signing that helps secure a genuine halfback for the Bulldogs.

“We are delighted to have Toby join us for the next two seasons,” said Bulldogs General Manager of Football, Phil Gould.

“He’s a genuine half-back, with an astute kicking game. He just needs to be playing more football at the NRL level and he will get that opportunity here at the Bulldogs.”
