Julia Robinson and the Brisbane Broncos are synonymous with the winger a member of the club since their inaugural season.

Already signed on until 2025, Robinson has added two more years to her contract to stay on as a player until the end of 2027 but she has also added a new role.

In a first for rugby league, Julia Robinson will also work as a Game Development Officer with the Broncos as her role with the club expands.

The decision to take the new opportunity was a no-brainer for Robinson who gets to continue to work in the sport she loves and help mentor and educate the next generation of female athletes.

“This opportunity came up and when I was first told about it, I knew I couldn’t say no because what more would I want to do than work and play in the Broncos and be a part of such a great club, now working and playing with my mates?”, Robinson said.

“Now I get to give back by going out to schools and the community and helping pave the way future generations of female athletes.”

A three-time premiership winner with the Broncos, Robinson has also played for QLD and Australia, and admits that the club and the city of Brisbane have been like a second home to her.

“I feel the Broncos are my second home,” Robinson continued.

“When I walk in everyone makes me feel so welcome.

“I’m so excited, I’ve always wanted to be a one club person and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the Broncos for all of my rugby league career.”

Robinson has set the ambitions high in her remaining playing days, with her sights set on bringing the NRLW premiership back to Brisbane.

“I would like a few more Premierships, I want to get to the Grand Final again and hopefully bring the trophy home for Brisbane,” Robinson said.

It should come as no surprise that Broncos NRLW head coach Scott Prince is pleased with Robinson’s new deal and role.

“This isn’t just good news for Julia but great for the whole club as well. I look forward to seeing what more she can do every time she steps on the field,” Prince said.

“She (Robinson) is an influential part of our gameplay and her presence will definitely bolster the strength of the team.”
