Despite somewhat of a tug-of-war among themselves due to the David Fifita saga, the Sydney Roosters have managed to convince Angus Crichton to stay at the club after he signed a new two-year deal.

Crichton, who is currently playing some stellar football – which has been rewarded with an Origin recall – says that the Roosters club is home for him and he is pleased to continue his journey there.

“I’m incredibly proud to continue my journey with the Sydney Roosters,” said Crichton.

“This team is like family to me, and so are the people within the Club.

“There’s honestly nowhere else I’d rather be. I feel like I still have so much more to give, and I’m committed to continuing to bring my best and to playing my role for the team.”

With 168 NRL games to date, 111 of which have come with the Roosters, coach Trent Robinson knows Crichton as both a player and a person and is pleased to see him stay.

“This is Angus’ sixth season as a Rooster, and he has openly spoken about what being part of this Club and our community means to him,” Robinson said.

“I really value Gus as a player, and as a person, so I’m looking forward to continuing to work with him over the next few years.”
