The Gold Coast Titans have handed Tanah Boyd an immediate release allowing him to join the New Zealand Warriors from the 2025 season.
Since 2019 when he made his debut, Boyd has played in 69 NRL games and the club wished their departing player all the best.
Boyd has signed with the Warriors until the end of the 2026 season and provides the club with additional halves depth following the retirement of club stalwart Shaun Johnson.
In capturing his signature, the Warriors believe Boyd can enjoy some good times at the club.
“We’re thrilled to get Tanah across to the club. He’s a quality, proven player who will add great depth to our squad,” said One New Zealand Warriors general manager recruitment, pathways and development Andrew McFadden.
Boyd was quick to praise the general direction of the club and how working under Andrew Webster will help him.
“There’s so much to like about the direction of the club, from Webby to the fans and the support the team gets here (in New Zealand),” said Boyd.
“There’s been plenty of players who have come this way (Australia to New Zealand) in the past and in recent times who have proven that if you buy in you can make an impact and that’s certainly what I plan on doing.”
Webster expects Boyd to provide plenty of competition among their halves.
“Tanah’s arrival will create healthy competition among our halves,” said Webster.
“He brings a great kicking game, strong game management skills and he’s also a proven goal kicker.
“We’re really looking forward to having him at our club.”
