The Canberra Raiders will welcome back Ua Ravu to their top 24 in 2025 with the club re-signing the PNG international for one season.

Ravu, who was a foundation player for the Raiders in 2023, was a part of the development squad last season.

Her form last season was so good, especially for Papua New Guinea that she was on the Golden Boot shortlist.

Ravu is grateful to have another chance to rejoin the top 24 and is pleased to don the lime green of the Raiders once more in 2025.

“I’m very much looking forward to being back in the Raiders Top 24 squad next year,” Ravu said.

“It’s an exciting time in women’s rugby league and I’m grateful to be a part of it for another season.”

“The Raiders gave me my first ever opportunity to be in the NRLW in 2023, so it’s pretty special that I’ve been chosen to stick around for another year.”

Although 2024 did not see Ravu play in many games, she knew she had to both try and make the most of the opportunity and continue to improve her game.

“After being in the development squad this season, I worked hard on my craft to better myself as a player both on and off the field,” Ravu continued.

“Although I didn’t get to play many games, each game that I played, I felt like I made the most of my time on the field.

“As I had been in the Top 24 squad for the 2023 season, I knew I had the potential to be there again, so with resilience, courage and the best support crew, I was able to focus on all the positives and filter out the negatives to reach my goal.”

Raiders coach Darren Borthwick admits that Ravu’s hard work and persistence as well as her strong games for Papua New Guinea are what got her back in the top squad.

“For Ua it was all about persistence and hard work and things that we value here at the club,” Borthwick said.

“She had a really good international series for Papua New Guinea and you can see a lot of things she worked on really hard here, she brought out in her game playing for PNG.
