The Wigan Warriors women’s side have gone bang with their two latest signings, confirming that Remi Wilton and Emily Veivers will both join the club for the 2025 Women’s Super League season.

Wilton, who has played both rugby league and rugby union, has previously represented the ACT Brumbies and Australian rugby league sides the Canberra Raiders and the Central Queensland Capras.

Wilton, who captained the Raiders side prior to their entry into the NRLW, said she is excited at the new challenge ahead of her and wants to build on her success with former side, the York Valkyrie.

“I can’t wait to play in the Wigan colours,” Wilton said.

“After an exciting end to 2024 with York it’ll be great to build into the 2025 season with Wigan and hopefully have a similar outcome.

“The Club as a whole has been really welcoming so it’s been a super easy transition – this feels like where I’m meant to be.”

Also joining Wigan is back-rower Emily Veivers who most recently played for the Norths Devils in the BMD premiership.

Veivers is an astute addition and comes with a pedigree of being a hard and consistent worker on and off the ball.

The Papua New Guinean international is looking forward to playing for Wigan in 2025.

“I’m really looking forward to playing in the Betfred Women’s Super League over here in England and joining Wigan,” Veivers said.

“The Club and environment here is amazing and I couldn’t be more happy.

“I think it’s a massive opportunity for me as a player and a role model for the younger generation coming through in Papua New Guinea & Australia, just showing that there’s a lot of opportunities out there in the World if you just stay determined you can do anything.”
