Perhaps a signing that emerged out of nowhere but the Parramatta Eels have signed Dylan Walker from the New Zealand Warriors effective immediately.
The Warriors released the utility on compassionate grounds that allowed him to return to Sydney to sign for the Eels, a deal for the rest of 2025 and 2026.
Although the Warriors were keen to keep the 30-year-old Walker, they were not about to stand in his way.
“We were keen for Dylan to stay until the end of the season but we appreciate why he needs to return to Sydney,” said Warriors CEO Cameron George.
“We’ve really enjoyed having him at our club and he has given us tremendous service. He goes with our support and best wishes.”
Walker, who has 232 NRL games to his name so far, is a player that the Eels are looking forward to utilising.
“We’re excited to have a player of Dylan’s caliber join the Eels,” said Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill.
“Dylan is such a tough competitor who will suit our style of football and he will provide class and experience to our team.”
