Every club needs experienced and the Cronulla Sharks have identified Tommaya Kelly-Sines as a player that can help guide their emerging talents in 2025.

Kelly-Sines, from Kempsey, NSW, has so far played in 16 NRLW games over three seasons in previous stints with the Parramatta Eels and the Canberra Raiders.

The Sharks’ sustained development and improvement is what attracted Kelly-Sines to the Sharks and she is excited by the direction the club is going in.

“It’s been such a great experience. I love it here,” Kelly-Sines said.

“I can’t speak highly enough of the club and the girls.

“I’ve seen the progression the Sharks have had over the last couple of years and I’ve seen them improve each game. That’s what made me come to the club.”

Kelly-Sines is keen to get stuck and play in the forwards, a position she knows well, and the environment is one that she believes suits her hailing from the mid-North coast.

“I want to play in the forwards, lead from the front and help set the standards,” Kelly-Sines continued.

“Pre-season’s been pretty tough, but I love it. I knew a few of the girls.

“I’m learning each session and improving each week, which is really good. I’m settling in well. I love the beaches – I’m from the mid-north coast – so it feels like home.”

With the Sharks needing some extra forwards to round out their depth, coach Tony Herman expects Kelly-Sines to also push for a top seventeen spot each week.

“Tommaya adds important depth and power to our stocks in the middle,” Herman said.

“She’s proven herself to be a consistent NRLW performer and still has untapped potential.

“We’re excited to see her push for a place in our best 17 this year.”
