An unfortunate ACL injury robbed Aaron Schoupp of playing much footy in 2025 but the Manly Sea Eagles have repaid the faith and signed the utility back for 2026.

Joining Manly from the Gold Coast Titans midway through 2024, he was able to make several appearances for Manly in 2025 before the ACL injury hit in the last round of the regular season.

Despite that ruling him out for the a large chunk of next season, Manly coach Anthony Seibold backs Schoupp to make a successful return and challenge for a spot.

“Aaron has had a few challenges through his young career, but I know he will be diligent with his reconditioning, and we expect to see him push for a place in the 17 as next season progresses,” Seibold said.

“He’s young, he can play multiple positions and I’m sure his best years are ahead of him.”

In Schoupp’s favour was the fact that Manly had agreed to a new contract prior to his injury and he is grateful to the club for honouring it.

“We had agreed to a new contract before I did my knee, so I’m very grateful for the club to honour that,” Schoupp said.

“I truly believe I can get back to my best football at this club.

“I’ll be working as hard as I can in preseason so I can get back playing as soon as possible.

“I’m excited to repay the faith the club has shown in me.”
