He said he was going to leave the Manly Sea Eagles and it has happened, with Daly Cherry-Evans signing with the Sydney Roosters for the 2026 season.
Interestingly, the deal also has an option for a second season reportedly in Cherry-Evans favour.
Cherry-Evans, a premiership-winning halfback and representative for both Queensland and Australia, and with 352 NRL games to his name, his experience will be invaluable to Trent Robinson’s Roosters side.
“Daly’s experience and understanding of the game will be a strong addition to our group and we’re excited to welcome him to the Roosters,’ said Robinson.
“I’m looking forward to working with him.”
