Former NRL player Waqa Blake who had stints with both the Penrith Panthers and the Parramatta Eels, has re-signed in England with the Bradford Bulls.

The new deal for Waqa sees him contracted to the club for 2027 with the Fijian winger making an instant impression with fans for his all-out approach with and without the ball.

With Bradford’s return to the Super League now made official, Blake is excited to stay with the club and wants to get back on the field and achieve even greater things.

“I am really happy to be staying, I said when I signed I came here looking to enjoy my rugby again and I have done that and I am grateful to the club and the boys for the great year we had together,” said Blake.

“I also said we had one goal which was to return to Super League and we have achieved that.

“I wanted to give Super League another crack and help this club get back there, now I am excited to get going and represent this great club and its fans.”

Bulls coach Kurt Haggerty knew plenty about Blake who was already signed when he joined as head coach and he cannot wait to see the best of Blake over the next two seasons.

“When I came on board and Waqa had already signed it was something I was really excited about, he is someone I am really looking forward to working with,” said Haggerty.

“I studied his game at St Helens and I was well aware of the qualities that he has, he has shown he’s a proven NRL player and a proven Super League player.

“We need to get Waqa playing his best rugby again and I think next year we will see the best version of him.”
