A genuine fan favourite for his on-field performances and off-field culture building, Josh Addo-Carr has signed a contract extension for 2027 with the Parramatta Eels.
Initially a signing that was fraught with some trepidation given the way he left the Canterbury Bulldogs, Eels coach Jason Ryles was justified in his call to back Addo-Carr.
In just one season so far with the Eels, Addo-Carr scored plenty of tries on the left wing and earned a berth with the Kangaroos side during the Pacific Championships.
Since joining, Addo-Carr has felt at home and signing the extra extension was an easy call for him.
“I absolutely love this Club. Everyone here from the coaches to the players, management and admin staff, and of course our incredible fans have made Parramatta feel like home from the moment I arrived,” said Addo-Carr.
“Rylesy and the coaching staff have helped me become the player I always wanted to be, both on and off the field. I’m grateful for their belief in me and I’m excited for what we’re building together.”
Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill praised Addo-Carr’s professionalism and experience in guiding the younger generation of players at the Eels.
“We are absolutely delighted to have Josh remain with the Parramatta Eels through 2027. Josh has not only returned to his best form, but he has also shown tremendous leadership within our squad,” said O’Neill.
“Our younger players look up to him – his professionalism, energy, and experience have been invaluable. He’s a great person to have around the Club and someone who represents his family and his culture very proudly,”
