2026 will be the last for Mawene Hiroti in a Cronulla Sharks jersey as he joins the Gold Coast Titans on a two-year deal from 2027.

Hiroti, who will add further depth and competition to the Titans backline, can play wing and centre, and has so far played in 34 NRL games since debuting in 2019.

Titans coach Josh Hannay is no stranger to Hiroti and his ability, having been an assistant at the Sharks in previous years.

“Having worked closely with Mawene over the past five years, it’s my belief he’s one of the most underrated outside backs in the competition,” said Hannay.

“He’s been stuck behind some of the best outside backs in the competition at Cronulla and hasn’t always got regular opportunities in the NRL, but when he has, he’s always been one of the best performing players on the field.”

Hannay’s praise for Hiroti continued, particularly when it came to his work ethic and attitude.

“I admire his no nonsense, head-down, work-hard attitude and I can’t wait to work with him again in the future. He brings a lot to the table, including a history of being an outstanding goal-kicker,” continued Hannay.

“He’s going to be an asset for our club and fits the mould of the type of character we want to attract to the Titans.”
