The Cronulla Sharks will retain Georgia Hannaway on their NRLW roster for the 2027 season after she signed a one-year extension.

Joining the club back in 2024, Hannaway helped the Sharks to a maiden grand final with her versatility a key factor for the club, even if her recent games have seen her play predominantly as a half.

Already contracted for 2026, Hannaway said re-signing with the club was a no-brainer for her.

“Re-signing with the Sharks was a no-brainer for me,” Hannaway said.

“I love the club, I love the team and I love being in the Shire.

“I absolutely love the culture and positive energy we have in this team. I really adore the way we all light up when we see each other.

“This year I’m excited for us to take our game to the next level and show everyone what Sharks footy is made of.”

The Brisbane-born Hannaway will again be a main feature of the Sharks side and coach Tony Herman expects big things.

“Georgia is a natural footballer with phenomenal instincts,” Herman said.

“She’s quickly become one of the elite talents in our game, having earned her State of Origin debut last year after just one NRLW season.

“Scarily, Georgia still has a lot of improvement to come. It’s exciting to think about what she could achieve as a Shark over the next two years.”
