Bursting onto the scene and impressing fans from across the NRL, Cooper Clarke has earned himself a contract extension with the Melbourne Storm.

Clarke will now stay on with the Storm until the end of the 2029 season.

Still only 19, Clarke earned a surprise debut in round one of the 2026 season and has not looked back after progressing quickly through the Storm’s pathways system.

2025 was his breakout season to date, as he earned NSW U19s honours, won the 2025 SG Ball Player of the Year Award for Melbourne, and also played a role in the club’s Jersey Flegg success.

It should come as no surprise that Storm General Manager of Football Frank Ponissi gave Clarke a glowing endorsement as he continues to get better and improve.

“Cooper is a young forward we’re really excited about,” Ponissi said.

He’s earned his first-grade opportunity this season through hard work and made significant improvements to his game over the off-season.

“He’s a great competitor with a terrific attitude and a strong willingness to learn, and we’re looking forward to his continued development in a Melbourne Storm jersey over the coming years.”
