In a huge boost for the Canterbury Bulldogs and the next few seasons, the club has re-signed Matt Burton until the end of 2027.

The new long term deal keeps Burton in Dogs’ colours for years to come as they look to get back into premiership contention.

Burton, a premiership winner, has also played for NSW, scoring a try on debut.

Burton said he’s pleased to stay and to work with coach Cameron Ciraldo.

“I’m grateful to be a part of this Club,” Burton said.

“We’ve got the new coach in now and I’m really excited to work with him again.

He’s a great coach and I’m looking forward to taking my game to the next level with his guidance.”

Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton looks forward to seeing Burton progress even further over the length of his deal.

“Matt enjoyed an excellent season in 2022 and one that led to many personal accomplishments,” Warburton said.

“He is a great ambassador for the Bulldogs and has fast become a fan favourite.”
