A Sydney Roosters club stalwart for 15 years, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has today announced that season 2024 will be his last.

Waerea-Hargreaves, who started his career with the Manly Sea Eagles, played in 16 seasons and won three premierships, all with the Roosters.

With 298 games to his name, 292 of which have come with the Roosters, Waerea-Hargreaves is currently the Roosters’ fourth most capped player.

Waerea-Hargreaves is committed to the 2024 season and expressed his love for the club he spent most of his career at.

“The Sydney Roosters have been my home, my family, and my passion for many years,” said Waerea-Hargreaves.

”I love the Club and everybody who’s a part of it and anyone who knows me knows what the Roosters jersey means to me.

“This hasn’t been an easy decision but after discussions with my family and Trent, I know it’s the right one.”

Roosters coach Trent Robinson knows how invaluable Waerea-Hargreaves has been to the Roosters for more than a decade.

“Jared is the heart and spirit of our Club and he is family to the Roosters,” Robinson said.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure to coach someone that plays the game the way he has for more than a decade.”
