Rabbitohs return to Redfern 2009The youthful South Sydney Bunnies side nearly pulled off an upset at the reopening of Redfern Oval today; performing admirably against a talented side from the Wests Tigers.

With the return to Redfern in front of a sold out members only crowd, the young South Sydney side showed they could match it with the more fancied opponents. The Tigers running out eventual winners 30 points to 26.

In addition to the NRL trial, Souths put on a legends game with the likes of John Sattler and other Souths legends entertaining the jovial crowd. South Sydney victorious in that match, outscoring the Wests Tigers legends 3 tries to 2.
