Depth is important in rugby league and the Canterbury Bulldogs have signed Brent Naden for two seasons from 2022.

Naden, who has played in 30 NRL games and scored 20 tries in that time, is a player that can put pressure on the likes of Will Hopoate and others.

Although he has a bit of a chequered off-field history, his talents on the field are not in doubt and that excites Bulldogs’ heavyweights.

“Adding someone of Brent’s ability to our backline is tremendous news for our Members and fans, as we build towards the future,” said Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton.

“Brent is a proven try-scorer, with a phenomenal strike rate in his NRL career so far, and we believe that he will be part of a great backline for next season and beyond.”

Naden, who played his junior footy in Central West NSW, is a player that is familiar with Dogs coach Trent Barrett from their time in Penrith together.

“He has an excellent relationship with Trent Barrett and the potential to continue to improve,” Warburton continued.

“We look forward to what Brent will bring to the Bulldogs, and are pleased that we have added another vital piece to the squad that we are putting together to take this club forward.”
