The focus should be on the NRL finals but the NRL has yet another incident to worry about, this time involving Anthony Milford.
Milford, who was set to join the South Sydney Rabbitohs for 2022 now faces a nervy wait as the NRL Integrity Unit investigates.
The enigmatic utility was arrested at 2am in Fortitude Valley on Monday morning and faces three counts of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and one count of wilful damage.
There are further reports that the incident is domestic violence related which could be the death knell on his career if those reports are true.
TheĀ Courier MailĀ state that the incident stemmed from an argument with his wife Miri, also the mother of his two chilren.
His former club, the Brisbane Broncos, released a short statement on the issue.
“Anthony Milford has completed his contractual duties with the Brisbane Broncos.
He is on leave and due to begin a new NRL contract elsewhere at the commencement of the 2022 pre-season.
As the matter is now before the courts, the Broncos will make no further comment.”
Milford was given police bail and will appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 20.
