Luciano Leilua will embark on a French adventure as he heads to Perpignan for three years, signing a deal with the Catalans Dragons.

The 30-year-old Samoan international is excited at the new opportunity as Leilua looks forward to taking his family over to experience something new.

“I’m really excited to join his great club and its history,” Leilua said.

“Looking forward to meeting my new teammates and also everyone at the club.

“My family and I can’t wait to get over there and enjoy what the club have to offer.”

2016 was when Leilua made his debut with the St George Illawarra Dragons – also his current club – before he had stints with the Wests Tigers and the North Queensland Cowboys.

That has so far amounted to 181 NRL games with Catalans coach John Cartwright excited to welcome the forward to the club.

“He is an experienced powerful back row who has his best footy in front of him,” Cartwright said.

“He’s good feet for a big man and a strong offload game.”
