It was back in 2024 when Tristan Sailor joined St Helens with hope and fanfare. Fast forward to 2026 and Sailor has now signed a new three-year deal with the club that gave him a chance.
Sailor has gone to make 50 consecutive appearances and securing a regular spot in the side’s starting line-up with 28 tries and 19 goals to his name.
For Sailor, the preference is to play in the spine but he has morphed into a team player and will play where is needed.
Gelling in well with his teammates, Sailor is excited to continue his time with St Helens.
“It’s really exciting! I came here for an opportunity, and I’ve absolutely loved my time here,” Sailor said.
“I’m glad to be staying on and continuing to play alongside some of the boys I’ve been with over the past two years.”
Sailor’s main goal for the club is to help them win trophies again and get them back to glory.
“The biggest thing for me is helping bring trophies back to this club,” Sailor continued.
“That’s what this club, the fanbase and the community expect because St Helens has always been a successful club.
“We’ve gone through some adversity over the past couple of years with inconsistent performances and changes within the squad, but now it’s about adapting and evolving with the game and the players we have.”
Just as pleased is St Helens coach Paul Rowley who is stoked to retain Sailor.
“Tristan extending his stay with the Saints is great news for the Club,” Rowley said.
“Since joining, he has been outstanding in his performances and is a really valuable team member.
“He’s a great lad, and I am very happy that we get the pleasure of continuing to work alongside him going forward.”
