Jesse Arthars time in the NRL will come to an end with the centre/winger to depart the Brisbane Broncos and join the Catalans Dragons from next season.

Arthars, who has been with the Broncos since 2020 – as well as a brief stint with the New Zealand Warriors in 2022 – joins Catalans on a two-year deal.

Broncos General Manager of Football Troy Thomson praised Arthars contributions to the club and knows he will play a role in the rest of the club’s 2026 campaign.

“Jesse has made a meaningful contribution to the Club since first joining us in 2020 and has become a valued member and a respected leader in our playing group,” Thomson said.

“His efforts across the 2025 season and the role he played within the squad were significant in helping us achieve success.

“Jesse will continue to play an important role for us as we head into the second half of the 2026 season.”

Arthars is excited to head to Perpignan for two seasons as he looks to embrace the culture of the club and the region.

“I’m super excited to be joining the Catalans Dragons for the next couple of seasons,” Arthars said.

“Looking forward to representing the club, the fans, embracing the culture and exploring the south of France. Allez Les Dragons ! ”

Someone who is familiar with Arthars is current Catalans coach John Cartwright who worked with the utility back during his time as an assistant coach at the Broncos.

“I have worked with Jesse at the Broncos,” Cartwright said.

“He’s a class player on and off the field. He is a good character and a hard worker in the peak of his career. It’s a major statement signing by the club.”
