Shawn Blore is headed North in 2027 with the back-rower signing a two-year deal with the Brisbane Broncos.
Blore, who is currently with the Melbourne Storm, was once a mainstay of the side before niggling injuries and poor form reared their ugly heads.
Limited to just 10 NRL games in 2026 – with a total of 58 for the Storm – the club say they are disappointed to see him go but understand his wishes.
“Shawn has been an important member of our squad since arriving in 2024 and quickly established himself as a regular starter in our forward pack, helping the team to the 2024 Minor Premiership and consecutive NRL Grand Final appearances.
“While we’re disappointed to see Shawn leave, we understand his decision and wish him, his partner and their family all the best with their move to Brisbane.”
The Broncos are pleased to add Blore to their forward pack as it undergoes a changing of the guard with Payne Haas leaving and Corey Jensen retiring.
“Shawn adds further big game experience and depth to our back row stocks,” Broncos General Manager of Football Troy Thomson said.
“He knows what it takes to prepare and perform in the NRL on a consistent basis.
“He has a hardworking approach to his football, and we’re excited about what he can bring to the Broncos.”
