The Newcastle Knights have retained their faith in NRLW head coach Ben Jeffries as they hand him a new contract extension until the end of the 2028 season.

Jeffries broad portfolio also includes an additional role as the Female Pathways Coaching Director with the new deal to take his tenure as coach to five years total.

Knights Director of Football has backed the retention of Jeffries.

“We are pleased Ben has decided to extend his time with the Club,” said James.“Ben has done an outstanding job across our female participation programs, overseeing a broad portfolio that includes coaching, development, recruitment and growth initiatives.

“The continued success and development of our women’s programs is a credit to his hard work, leadership and management across a significant body of work.”

Jeffries himself praised the club for believing in him and showing the faith as he looked back on what he has so far achieved in his time as Knights coach.

“I’m extremely grateful to Peter Parr, Chris James and the board for extending my time here at the Knights, until at least 2028,” said Jeffries.

“My first three years here have been inspiring, exciting and creative.

“We have doubled the number of homegrown players, increased representative honours and seen every team across the Club play and win finals football.”
