The importance of finalising a roster long-term is crucial and the North Queensland Cowboys have tied up duo Abigail Roache and Lily Peacock until the end of the 2028 season.

Roache, currently in her second season with the Cowboys, has previously played for the Newcastle Knights where she won a premiership.

The now 25-year-old centre has played 34 NRLW games to date and is a player the Cowboys see as crucial to their side.

“Abigail is a quality person first and foremost,” Cowboys NRLW Head Coach Ricky Henry said.

“She loves this region, she loves the Cowboys and she has been a trailblazer in helping turn our program into what it is today.”

Peacock, a local junior from Prosperine, is sidelined with an ACL injury she suffered earlier in the year but the club are aware of her potential and what she can bring to the club.

“Lily has had a setback this year, but she is an exceptional talent,” Henry continued.

“She has a great work ethic to go along with her talent, but most of all she wants to win and grow as a player.

“Lily is also a local product who is incredibly proud to wear our jersey and represent the Cowboys.”
