The move was much mooted and it is official with the Wests Tigers signing Justin Olam on a three-year deal in a player swap with the Melbourne Storm.

Olam has long been regarded as one of the heaviest hitters in the league since making his debut in 2018 at the Storm and he brings his pedigree to the Tigers.

Olam is both a premiership winner with the Storm and a regular Papua New Guinean selection and he is pleased to be joining his new club.

“I was really impressed by Benji [Marshall] and his vision for me and the team, and it’s so exciting to be here,” Olam said.

“I’m keen to put in the work and win the trust of the boys and the coaches at training, and hopefully contribute to what the club is building.”

Knowing their backline needed experience, the signing of Olam is one that greatly pleases coach Benji Marshall.

“Justin is a world class player who will bring plenty of experience to our team,” Marshall said.

“He is a proven winner who has played at the highest level.
