One of the underrated players in the Gold Coast Titans cog, Jojo Fifita has impressed the top brass and as such, they have added two more years to his existing deal.
Fifita’s contract will now expire at the end of the 2029 season as his 2026 game went to new heights, playing all three games for the Queensland Maroons in this years’ Origin.
The new deal for Fifita now sees both Jojo and his brother Viliami contracted to the Titans until the end of the 2029 season.
Since joining the club and debuting in 2022, Fifita has 78 NRL games to his name and his efforts did not go unnoticed by coach Josh Hannay.
“It’s a huge coup to have Jojo remain a Titan and he has gone to another level in his career this year,” Hannay said.
“Jojo has got some outstanding natural attributes.
“He’s powerful, he’s got genuine speed and he’s capable of creating something every time he gets the ball; but what excites us most is that he’s still got plenty of growth left in his game.
“He wants to learn, he wants to improve and he wants to be the best player he can be, especially with positional certainty and his role within our team.”
Family played a big part in Fifita’s decision to stay but also, he believes the club is moving in the right direction.
“This club means a lot to me. I’m a one club man and hopefully it stays that way for a long time,” Fifita said.
“Family is also a big thing for me and being so close to them is another major part of extending.
“I can see the clear direction this club is heading.”
