The Wests Tigers have shored up their forward depth for 2027 with the addition of veteran forward Tyson Frizell for the 2027 season.

Frizell, who is fresh off making a grand final with the Newcastle Knights, currently has 306 NRL games to his name.

It was back in 2011 that saw Frizell make his NRL debut with the Cronulla Sharks before stints at the St George Illawarra Dragons and the Knights.

To cap off his club career, Frizell also has a stellar representative career that has seen him play for NSW, Australia and Wales.

The man himself is keen to get among the Tigers playing group and pass on any wisdom he can to the younger forwards coming through.

“I’m really looking forward to joining the Wests Tigers in 2027,’’ Frizell said.

“It’s an exciting opportunity for me at this stage of my career and I’m grateful for the chance to be part of what the club and Benji are building.

“There’s a lot of exciting young talent coming through. I’m hoping I can add some value through my experience and leadership, both on and off the field.”

Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall praised Frizell’s professionalism and longevity and knows he will be an asset for the club.

“Tyson is the most professional player I’ve ever seen when it comes to preparation,’’ Marshall said.

“To play the amount of footy he has and still compete at the highest level of the game at his age is a credit to the way he prepares and goes about his business.

“Tyson will be invaluable in terms of the leadership he will bring to our younger guys.”
