Emerging as a key forward for the club, the Canberra Raiders have re-signed Luke Bateman for 2019.
The one-year deal comes after Bateman found himself off-contract at the end of this season.
The Raiders forward is pleased to have his future sorted and wants to play footy.
“It’s great to have another season locked away here in Canberra and I’m really looking forward to the next year and a half,” Bateman said.
“I feel like I’m getting the consistency I need to play regular NRL footy and I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead.”
Also a local junior, the Raiders make a habit of retaining as many as possible.
With his progression now in full swing, the Raiders are pleased to have retained Bateman.
“Luke has come through our junior ranks and established himself as a regular NRL player,” Canberra Raiders CEO Furner said.
“We’re happy he’s decided to stay with us for another season and we look forward to watching him continue to improve and be a leader in our squad.”
