After being granted a release by the Wests Tigers, Jacob Liddle will have a new home in 2023, signing with the St George Illawarra Dragons for 2023.

Since making his NRL debut at the Tigers, Liddle played in 75 NRL games but has also been plagued in the past by serious injury.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said the opportunity for Liddle presented itself and the club was not about to stand in his way.

“An opportunity presented itself at the Dragons for Jacob and it’s an outcome that works for all parties,” said Pascoe.

“He is a tremendous talent, a lovely young man, and an outstanding person.

“We wish Jacob the very best for his future and thank him for all that he has done for this club over the past seven years.”

Liddle is the first of the Dragons’ signings for 2023, one that the Dragons believe is a good fit for all.

“The opportunity to bring Jacob to the Dragons was a good fit for all involved,” Dragons General Manager of Football Ben Haran said.

“Hooker is a position we identified as needing further depth in and Jacob is a good prospect for the club given his age and experience.”
