He scores tries for fun, has a good work ethic and is loved by Cronulla Sharks fans and now, Sione Katoa will stick around in the Shire a bit longer.

Katoa has signed a new three-year deal with the Sharks until the end of the 2026 season, as the Sharks retain another key piece of their backline moving forward.

Joining the Sharks in 2017, Katoa finished that season as the Holden Cup’s leading try-scorer before moving onto the Newtown Jets where he was a strong performer in their success.

For Katoa himself, he is pleased to stay on board at the club and believes that they are moving in the right direction.

“I love being a member of this team and to be representing this club and I’m excited to have been able to extend my time here for another three years with this new contract,” Katoa said.

“I believe we are building something special here at the Sharks under Fitzy and the coaching staff and I’m really looking forward to playing my part not only this season but also in the years to come.”

Since debuting in round 1 of 2018, Katoa has 67 NRL games to his name and 47 tries.
