Undergoing a major changing of the guard when it comes to their player personnel, the Canterbury Bulldogs have now added Blake Taaffe from 2024 for two years.
Since debuting in 2021 for current club, the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Taaffe has played 27 NRL games across numerous positions in his role as a utility.
Rabbitohs head of football Mark Ellison praised Taaffe and wished him well upon his departure.
“We look forward to finishing off our campaign this year with Blake in our squad and we wish him the very best of luck with his new club from next season,” said Ellison.
“Blake will always be a proud Rabbitoh.”
Just as pleased is Bulldogs General Manager of Football, Phil Gould, who can see Taaffe shining at the club where a more consistent first-grade spot may be up for grabs.
“Blake’s ability to cover multiple positions adds great value to our squad,” said Gould.
“He sits behind a number of highly talented players at the very strong South Sydney club, and he comes to the Bulldogs for an opportunity.
“We believe he’s ready to take his development to the next level here at the Bulldogs, where he’ll have more opportunities to shine in the NRL.”
