After the departure of Kelma Tuilagi, the Manly Sea Eagles needed to shore up the back-row and have done so with the signing of Corey Waddell for 2024.

Waddell is no stranger to the Manly side and their system, having already played 36 games across the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Most recently, Waddell has been playing for the Canterbury Bulldogs.

Waddell has 95 NRL games to his name to date since his debut and he was praised by coach Anthony Seibold for his work rate and his versatility.

“Corey brings to us plenty of experience,” Seibold said.

“He has got really strong relationships with many of the players here already.

“The thing that interested me in Corey is his work ethic. He is a very hard worker. He adds a different sort of dimension to the middle forwards that we have already got.

“We feel like Corey adds further competition for spots and depth to our squad in 2024.”
