The North Queensland Cowboys have acted swiftly to keep young forward Griffin Neame for a further year.
Already contracted for season 2025, the Cowboys added 2026 to Neame’s contract, in what cements a nice young core for the club.
The Greymouth local moved to the Cowboys in 2019 and after making his debut in 2021, he has gone on to play 66 NRL games.
Neame has also played for New Zealand internationally and the Cowboys are pleased to have him retained for the extra year.
“Griffin has come through every level of our pathways systems and has emerged as a crucial member of our NRL squad over the last couple of seasons,” Cowboys General Manager of Football Micheal Luck said.
“Griff plays his best football when he is settled and knows his role and expectations around his contribution and this extension provides that for him off the field until the end of 2026.
“He is humble, he’s dedicated to his craft and we envision him becoming a leader of our forward pack in the coming seasons.”
